Project 365: Day # 369- Sunday, April 15, 2012 "The Beginning of the End"

I was really glad that Dona and Carney were able to take the idea of doing a blog once a week into consideration. In other words it's better late than never because we pretty much had a huge debate about it a couple months past. But it's great to put that into the equation since most of us are stressing over AP exams and finals. I also think that this gives me much more time to study and it makes it easier to actually write a blog on an interesting week rather than every day that doesn't hold an extraordinary purpose. I actually did a lot this week. But it's soon going to come to an end. I have about 24 school days left in my senior year and it's really going by rapidly. It's like I pretty much knew that this day would come but I never knew that this day would come so quickly. It's like only yesterday I was only a freshmen. I came a long way in my high school career and I know for a fact that I did whatever I could to show that my hard work was applied to something great and that it never went to waste. This is truly the beginning of the end and my official countdown starts now. I already know I'm going to miss New Town and the people there as well. I can still remember my parents telling me the "bad news" that I would attend New Town High School, and I was very unhappy. I was definitely at fault with this because I was the one who anticipated it being a bad school school based on what I've heard about it during my middle school years. But once I got there, I saw that those superfluous rumors were clearly false. But being there and getting involved in numerous activities made me see the light of that. Therefore, being rejected from Baltimore School for the Arts (BSA) was basically a "blessing in disguise" (as my mom would refer to it as); meaning that things happen for a reason but the outcomes are not necessarily negative. At BSA, if I had gotten in, I would have to soley work on music and music only. I wouldn't have time to play soccer, draw, or anything else. But I actually realize that when I see how well my talents developed over the course of my high school career. I'm ready to take the leap into the next phase of continuing education at Hofstra University and I know that teh work that I did over the years truly paid off.

Project 365: Day # 354- Saturday, March 31, 2012 "Nothing Special"

Today Saturday, March 31, 2012, it felt like a regular Saturday morning. I swear I could never oversleep on the weekends. I really don't know why that is but I always happen to just naturally wake up at around seven or something in the morning. But then again, it doesn't really surprise me considering the fact that I'm very well used to it during the school week. But this day was nothing special. It just felt like a regular Saturday with nothing really to do except study. Yeah I know I'm a nerd but hey what would the world be like without them?
