Today, Wednesday, September 21, 2011, my AVID 12 class had only one goal that they were focusing on and that was to make sure that the final preparations for the annual AVID Induction were completed and ready to go for Thursday night. I was placed in the House of Hyperion which according to our theme is the house of creativity and imagination. I found it kind of obvious that I would be put in this house based on my creative personality. But this was the day when it was definitely needed. We were continuing to construct our special tri folds that represented our house and what it stood for in regards to the AVID quest for success. My fellow scholars who were in my house worked diligently to get it finished. And even though the House of Prometheus were able to use Mr. Hammer for help (which I thought was very clever), it didn't stop the House of Hyperion from making theirs one of the best looking tri folds ever. I assumed correctly that this project would take us after fourth period began. But it was truly worth it. We were productive the entire time so I thank and congratulate my house for a great job. The effort we put into this definitely showed the night of the induction.
