I'm almost there! Today after school, I met with Mrs. Harris to work on these audition pieces for the Baltimore County Honors Orchestra. So far I was able to play through the whole song from the second excerpt from Bach's violin concerto. I was so happy and filled with greatest amount of excitement now that I was able to play it through with no problem. I played through it slowly first and then I worked on increasing the tempo. I was timid and less confident in the 32nd notes that were present in the last half of the piece but now Mrs. Harris and I were able to come up with a good strategy when dealing with these kinds of rhythm patterns especially when the appear in a sequence of scales. We came up with an idea as far as the different bow direction for each portion. I worked with her slowly on this and I've been practicing ever since. And now I'm starting to increase the speed just a little bit each time I'm able to play it flawlessly. Either way I'm definitely going to be ready for the auditions on October 15, 2011.
